Glebe Winter Skills Academy 2024

Glebe LL's Winter Skills Academy is a fun way for players to learn and maintain baseball skills during the winter months. Winter Skills programs run from January 20 to April 7, 2024*. As noted below, all scheduled sessions are contingent on having enough volunteers to run or assist with them.
A NEW MODEL FOR WINTER SKILLS VOLUNTEERS
For the 2024 Winter Skills Program, GLL will be implementing a new model requiring volunteers to commit to specific days and duties on a rotational basis. This will ensure that responsibilities do not fall on the shoulders of only a few people.
REFUNDS:
Winter Skills Season: January 20 to April 7, 2024
*No sessions: February 17,18 and March 9, 10, 16, 17, 30, 31
Fee: $50 per player (includes a GLL toque!)
Capacity: 20 players/session
Please check the official age chart to ensure your child is in the appropriate division.
Location: Samuel Genest Catholic School (small gym), 704 Carson’s Road. Parking is available behind the school.
A NEW MODEL FOR WINTER SKILLS VOLUNTEERS
For the 2024 Winter Skills Program, GLL will be implementing a new model requiring volunteers to commit to specific days and duties on a rotational basis. This will ensure that responsibilities do not fall on the shoulders of only a few people.
~Each division will require a lead volunteer. Without a lead, we will be unable to run Winter Skills programming for that age group. Registration fees will be waived for each lead volunteer.
~Depending on the number of registered players, each group will require 2 to 4 additional volunteers per week. Please complete the volunteer form to select you session and date(s).
~Volunteers will be provided with a detailed weekly curriculum ahead of time so they can help run particular stations.
~Mandatory - All volunteers are required to complete a Level 1 Police Check applicaton - please contact comms@glebelittleleague.ca for the letter to waive the fee.
~If there are not enough volunteers for a specific weekly session, families will be notified of the status 3 days in advance to allow for additional volunteers to sign up. If there are still insufficient volunteers, that week’s session will be cancelled and parents will be notified the day before the session.

- Refunds will not be issued for individually cancelled weekly sessions resulting from lack of volunteers.
- Should there be low participation numbers or insufficient volunteers to help coordinate Winter Skills at the onset of the winter training season, affected sessions will be cancelled and refunds will be issued.
