Welcome to the Spring 2020 season!
Baseball diamonds are open in early May! Of course, we still need good weather to play on the diamonds…
What Team is my son/daughter on?
As of May 1, all players in the following divisions should have been contacted directly by either the team coach or division convener with team assignments for Spring 2019: 19U, Senior, Junior, Major and Minor.
At T-Ball and Rookie, expect to be contacted by a coach or convener during the first week of May with an anticipated start of the programs the following week.
GLL Spring Ball Pants
For 2020, the onus is on parents to purchase light grey coloured baseball pants for their children playing in the GLL Spring Ball League. Our preferred supplier is Lacroix Sports located across from the Museum of Science and Technology on Lancaster Road in Ottawa. Lacroix will stock an inventory of various sizes and styles so that one-stop shopping should be the norm. If Lacroix is out of the size pants that you need, ordering and delivery to the store will take less than a week. If you are among the parents receiving financial assistance for player registration fees, please contact the GLL President – Allan Martel – 613-890-3651 – email@example.com as I have a small inventory of pants on hand for this purpose.
Baseball equipment typically consists of a baseball glove and appropriate shoes. Depending on the Division and Team Level, players may want to purchase their own bat, baseball cleats (plastic not metal except for Seniors and 19U) and/or batting gloves. GLL supplies catcher’s gear, baseball bats and baseballs for practices and games. GLL also supplies all required umpire gear. As with apparel, Lacroix Sports is the GLL preferred supplier for baseball equipment for all Divisions.
Questions or Concerns
If you have questions or concerns, please let us know. Your coach is held accountable by team parents to create the fun learning environment that we seek. Your coach is also accountable to the Division Convener so, if you have unresolved issue, please feel free to escalate them to the Convener level. If unresolved, please also contact any of our board members.
